Question

WHAT DOES FLYING IN THE VERTICAL WIND TUNNEL MEAN??

Answer

Even though the beginnings of Aerodium can be traced back to a sort of training equipment intended for military parachutists and astronauts, it has lately turned into a popular entertainment for all of those looking for new sensations. Flying in the tunnel – it is a unique experience, which cannot be achieved in the daily life. It is a dream, which has been at some point dreamt about by many – to be airborne, free, without any attachments and additional aids… To say it in other words – the vertical wind tunnel is a strong wind-generating device. By laying down on this vertical wind flow, a person can fly. By changing the body position and employing the laws of aerodynamics, you can lift off the ground, perform various stunts, acrobatic movements, and enjoy unfelt emotions.

Question

WHAT SKILLS AND ABILITIES ARE DEVELOPED BY FLYING?

Answer

The flights in the wind tunnel greatly develop the sense of balance and coordination abilities, helps strengthening the back muscles and other muscle groups. After the training sessions in Aerodium, it will be easier for you to control your body in any other type of sport.

Question

IS IT DIFFICULT TO LEARN HOW TO FLY?

Answer

A flying session in the tunnel, starting with a short safety briefing at the beginning and screams of excitement during the flight – it is both a physical challenge for your abilities, and satisfaction about a successful flight. If you can be keen about the new things and are ready for the undiscovered, then the training part will not pose any difficulties for you. The main thing is to relax and follow the instructions given by your instructor.

Question

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO LEARN HOW TO FLY?

Answer

With the support of the instructor, each and every one willing to fly will become airborne. Then – to learn how to fly independently is about as easy as learning to ski or skate. According to our experience, 2 minutes would be enough to understand what is flying. If you wish to acquire freedom of movements, it is recommended to extend the time to 4–10 minutes right away, or have a repeated flight at another time. With this duration it is usually enough to learn to stay in the flow steadily. After mastering the basics of flying, follows the process of improving the skills, which does not have any limits in this sport!

Question

WHY ARE THERE WEIGHT AND HEIGHT RESTRICTIONS?

Answer

The experts have defined these limits for weight and height based on calculations, in order to ensure that the flight would proceed as safely and comfortably as possible (in other words – people, who weigh less than 20 kg, can be flown up too high, but those weighing 140 kg and more might not even be lifted from the ground…).

Question

WILL I BE FLYING REALLY HIGH AND FALL?

Answer

Safety of the flyers is one of the key criteria of our operations. The tunnel is constructed with soft side mattress that allows people to land or fall safely. Furthermore, the height of the flight will be constantly controlled by the flow operator and the flying instructor, who ensures that the beginners in flying would be only a few metres above the net. It is possible also to fly higher, but for beginners it might be dangerous.

Question

IS IT SIMILAR TO FREE FALL OUT OF AN AIRCRAFT?

Answer

With the air flow speed of 200 km/h in the vertical wind tunnel, the sensations are very similar to those of the free fall, however – there is no aircraft, nor parachute in the tunnel… The movements and shifting around in the air both in the wind tunnel and in skydiving are based on the laws of aerodynamics and are very similar.

Question

IF I HAVE BOOKED AN HOUR CAN I SPLIT IT IN SEVERAL SESSIONS?

Answer

Yes. Our goal is to maintain relaxed and positively thinking environment, where exhausted flyers will not fit in. If you will feel tired, we will postpone your, for instance, 15 minutes for some time, and will allow others to fly instead of you, while you will be regaining your energy for the next flight.

Question

CAN I FLY ALSO IN BAD WEATHER CONDITIONS?

Answer

It may sound paradoxical, but in cold weather, air has the best lifting capacity and it is the most suitable for flying. In order to protect the face from cold, we will provide you with special, closed type helmets. However, in very cold weather (lower than -5ºC) the flights are suspended, because the helmet glass freezes over and visibility becomes impaired. So: during strong rain and storms, as well as when the temperature is lower than -5ºC, we stop the flights and your booking is postponed to a different time according to a mutual arrangement.
